A loop trail around Lake Boren

Description

The Comprehensive Plan calls for this trail to circle Lake Boren, sharing some existing trails to complete the loop around the lake. The best parts are yet to be built: an elevated boardwalk across the south end of Lake Boren, and a trail along the east shore of the lake. These are both in the plan for the improved and expanded Lake Boren Park, and the City is currently pursuing a grant for the boardwalk.

When the trail is complete, walkers can begin a clockwise loop on the China Creek Trail behind the Lake Boren Townhomes, following it east on boardwalks across the north end of Lake Boren, and heading south on the Esplanade (the sidewalk on the west side of Coal Creek Parkway). After passing Aegis Gardens, walkers will branch right from the Esplanade and follow the new lakeshore trail down to the lake, and along the east shore to the new boardwalk. They'll follow the CrossTown Trail west on the boardwalk and north to the cemetery, and continue north on the Waterline Trail (129th Ave SE) to rejoin the China Creek Trail.
